Corner office Financial Advisors don't bother with retirement plans.

They consistently miss opportunities with their clients.

The solo business owner, consultant, client on a board of directors...to name a few.

Ok, I get it, they have a big book of clients.

Usually with a bunch of retirees.

Here's the thing, business people:

• Retire

• Get bored

• And consult

They received 1099 income which can be used by the government for tax revenue.

Enter the opportunity for retirement plans.

If the client has:

• Already retired

• Wants to continue to stay busy by consulting

• Doesn't need the income

• And doesn't want to pay taxes...

You gotta suggest a retirement plan!

401(k)s will get them $70K+ in deferrals and Cash Balance will take them to the stratosphere with contributions in excess of $200K!

But, here's what happens when the corner office advisor misses the opportunity:

• Joe Advisor shows them a way to save in taxes with a retirement plan

• Joe Advisor solves a client's problem

• Joe Advisor gets the household

Therefore, the corner office financial advisor should have a junior advisor mine their current book.

Look for self employed individuals, and give them a call with a tax savings idea.

Corner office advisor:

• Does no work

• Gets additional AUM

• Helps an existing client save taxes

• Gives Joe Advisor no chance of creeping into the client's life.

Seriously, so little effort with meaningful payoff to all involved.

Happy to help your junior advisor with the book review to identify the missed opportunities.
