I recently signed up for a Digital Writing course, Ship 30 for 30, an introduction to becoming a Modern Writer.
A Modern Writer is contrasted to a Legacy Writer who escapes to a cabin in the woods, waits for inspiration to strike, spends seven years writing, and emerges one day with an opus that a publisher immediately buys, making the writer famous as the next Hemingway.
The Modern Writer, in contrast, writes short essays with the community, practicing in public, building a daily habit, iterating ideas, leveraging rapid-fire feedback from social networks, learning what works, and creating an evergreen library.
Why have I signed up?
Here are a few reasons why:
Writing helps you clarify your thoughts - meaning it helps you to think.
Writing every day builds up the writing muscle - meaning it builds discipline.
Writing allows me to share what I've learned and get feedback from community members.
I plan to write about Program Management, Agile / Scrum, and Productivity / Acceleration over the next 30 days.
Join me on this adventure—and let me know if you have any questions!
I'm excited to start sharing what I know online.
