There are three topics I am actively thinking about a lot these days:
1: Program Management
I became interested in Technical Program Management to go beyond Engineering Management and help a cross-team squad achieve goals and objectives and meet milestones they otherwise may have missed. It provides a structured order containing team meta-cognition and reflection to measure individual performance and team velocity to drive constant improvement and acceleration.
I hope that over the next two years, as I continue to learn more, I'll be able to improve at running more complex and larger programs.
2: Scrum
I first got interested in Scrum five years ago as an Engineering Manager looking to organize a software development team more efficiently and help bring a framework to a team.
My mentor introduced me to it—and since then, I have learned a lot about the importance of Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives, and Sprint Planning.
3: Performance Measurement and Acceleration
I am also interested in learning more about performance measurement and acceleration.
It's one of those fun rabbit holes I find myself exploring simply because I enjoy it, but it also profoundly impacts teams.
It would be great to connect with other people interested in these same topics, so if any of the above resonates with you, feel free to reach out!
