Scrivener: 5 Features That Make Scrivener Perfect for Writing Twitter Threads
Elaine Giles

Scrivener has a huge range of features to support any type of writing. Here are 5 that make Scrivener the best way to write, post and create a library of Tweetable content.

A Single Scrivener Project

I have a single Twitter Threads Scrivener file that contains every Twitter Thread I've written. It's my own personal library, perfect for garnering inspiration and repurposing.

Organizing in the Binder

I reserve the top level of the Binder for my diverse range of topics. The second level is for the actual threads. Since you can nest as many levels as you need in the Binder no matter how varied your threads organizing them will be easy.

1 Scrivening = 1 Tweet

Each Tweet is an individual scrivening in the Binder. The ability to focus at that level is productivity heaven.

Notes and Synopsis

While the scrivenings are home to the actual content of your tweets the Notes area is perfect for homing additional potential content while you write. The Synopsis is a great place to express the intent for each tweet ensuring you stay on track in your thread creation.

280 Character Target

Scrivener may originally have intended the Target Tracking feature to be for loftier goals. However, setting a target of 280 characters per scrivening makes reigning yourself in a breeze.

Bonus Features

  1. While crafting your thread Scrivener's Dual View enables you to refer to your reference material on one side and write on the other

  2. Once your thread is complete, select all the tweets in the Binder and the Document view ensures that you are able to see the entire thread in a single window providing the perfect overview of your content.
