The more content you have the more pages you'll need to create. Often you'll be faced with laying out dozens of images, copious amounts of text or even PDF pages from other files. Doing this manually takes an age.

Enter "Place Auto-flow" your automatic layout assistant

Place Auto-flow is a feature new in version 2 of Affinity Publisher. Its purpose is to flow content into a series of automatically generated pages.

Choosing File > Place from the menu displays a dialog box where you are able to select multiple elements of content to be placed in your file. Once the required content is selected clicking OK loads the content into the Place Images Panel.

From there you could choose to place each item of content individually into your layout.

Who has time for that? 😉

Alternatively, you are now able to select as many items of content from the Place Images Panel as you like and have Affinity Publisher place them all for you. Once you click the first placeholder all the additional pages and placeholders required to add your content are created automatically. Better still all the content you had selected is neatly placed into the placeholders on those pages.
