There are 3 topics I am actively thinking about a lot these days:
Topic #1: Ways to build & grow your online business
I first got interested in online business many moons ago (around 324 moons ago - no kidding).
At the time Jeff Bezos was operating his first bookstore from his garage and exploring diversification into other post-able products, and I was studying Business Management at Bradford Uni and attending lectures on a lesser known subject called e-commerce.
Since then, I have followed the Dot.com boom & bust with increasing levels of interest, attending monthly networking events "First Tuesdays" where entrepreneurs like Lastminute.com pitched angel investors in fancy bars in London.
I worked in New Media for clients operating in the converging areas of sports, media & entertainment (when WAP technology was emerging and smart phones were in their infancy). I had a job in the 90's with a cutting edge 'Viral' Marketing Agency before social media was a thing. I then went analogue for a decade or so before returning to work remotely and almost exclusively online, this time as a solopreneur.
It all leads me to the here and now where I'm most interested in digital writing, social media & email marketing, online product & course launches, sales funnels and building communities online.
Topic #2: Holistic health through mind and body
I am interested in building healthy & lifestyle habits, reducing obesity and anxiety which is prevalent across so much of society. Why? Because I want as many of us to live to a grand old age in good health, without putting excess strain on our beleaguered (National) Health Service.
And my hope is that over the next 10 years, as I continue to learn and grow, in age and wellness, I'll be able to share my knowledge and experience and help others to choose a more positive & sustainable way of healthy living, where we pay as much attention to our mindset as we do to our bodies.
Topic #3: Creativity and the creative process.
I invest a lot of my thought and energy into the creative process. It's one of those fun rabbit holes I can lose myself in just for the sheer joy of it.
I'm fascinated by concepts like Fear and Flow that can make or break the creative process. Books like The War of Art by Steven Pressfield and Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert really blew my mind.
I enjoy the everyday application of creativity and consider myself more of a lateral thinker than a logical one. I'm fond of visual arts like painting. As an artist I like exploring the intersection between representation and abstract art. I'm a practical person and I love to make things. From a creative POV that manifests as sewing and dressmaking, fabrics & textiles.
I'm also a foodie. I cook daily and eat out weekly - motivated by good food, or, as my Dad would have me believe, expensive taste.
It would be great to connect with other people who are interested in these same topics—so if any of the above resonates, feel free to reach out!
