Even if you are not planning on becoming a writer per se, improving your writing skills can open many doors for you.

Gary Halbert is one of the best copywriters of all time. He had a little-known strategy you can start implementing right now, that'll make you a better writer. It's called copywork, and here's how it works:

To improve your copywriting skills, you need to rewrite in longhand other successful writer's pieces, daily.

Why Does This Work?

  • Scientists have found that when you write by hand, your brain is more likely to learn and remember the information.

  • It helps you grasp how the writer thinks and how ideas are supposed to connect together. It programs their skills into your brain.

  • In other words, you are training your subconscious mind to become a better writer.

How Can You Get Started?

  1. Take some time to figure out the best type of material you need to replicate (Who do you want to sound like? Do you want to get better at writing sales letters, articles, threads?).

  2. Choose 30 successful copywriting pieces that you'd like to handwrite. Start with 7 if 30 sounds overwhelming.

  3. Set daily practice rules and stick to them (When and where are you going to write?).

  4. Spend 30 minutes daily writing them by hand. Do this for at least 30 days in a row (the longer, the better).

  5. Experience the results for yourself!

It does take some effort, but it is not hard. In fact, it's pretty easy as you don't have to think of what to write to improve your writing.

What will you write today?

Write, publish, get feedback, and become a better writer.
