3 Critical Mistakes Tekken 8 Beginners Make with Heat and How to Avoid Them to Climb the Leaderboard, Achieve Consistent Victories, and Master the Game

Spamming a heat smash is the worst use you could make of your heat bar.

Sure, a well-landed heat smash could turn the tide of your match, but if you want to increase your damage, health recovery, and chances of success, you should use the heat bar in the most efficient way. Here are three ways to optimize it:

1. Early Heat Smash
If your heat bar is full or your opponent still has a lot of HP left, do not waste your heat meter with a Heat Smash. Remember that when in heat, your damage is increased, your hits still do damage even if blocked, and you gain access to a set of moves only available in heat. Use heat smash only if necessary.

2. Use Heat Engagers to Recover Chip Damage
Do not waste your heat meter by pressing a Heat Burst. When you have taken considerable chip damage, try to land a Heat Engager move. All of your chip damage will be recovered! This allows you to restore lost chip damage HP and turn the match in your favor. New players often overlook this powerful tool.

3. Use Heat Strategically
As shown above, there are several ways to optimize the heat: try to use it in the most strategic way. The heat system is a powerful tool in your hands; use it to recover your chip damage, apply more pressure, take back your turn, or finish the round. Remember: other uses are poor uses.
