Welcome to my social blog as I navigate through the Ship 30 for 30 January 2023 cohort.

How To Find Your Tribe With These 3 Apps

Finding your tribe, a group of individuals with your interests or goals, can be hard. Use the group feature in the following apps to make identifying, joining and communicating with your new clique a snap.

Facebook Groups: Hate it or love it, Facebook is #1 on my list for finding professional and personal groups. At the end of 2022, there were over 10 million groups on Facebook, with over 1.8 billion people using them each month.

To find a group on Facebook, visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/explore/

LinkedIn Groups: If you are looking for a professional group to join, look no further than LinkedIn Groups. Per Linkedin, “Groups provide a place for professionals in the same industry or with similar interests to share their insights and experiences, ask for guidance, and build valuable connections.” If you are already on Linkedin, you can join up to 100 groups.

To find a group on Linkedin, enter a keyword or group name in the Search bar at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

Meetup.com: Meetup is a fun app, that includes every type of group. I most often use it to join groups for recreation but it has a number of trade and professional groups, as well. Most of the groups are local and meet in person. A big benefit over many other platforms.

To find a group simply visit meetup.com.
