Atomic Essays are, in a nutshell, a thought expressed in 250 words or less, made to look sexy, and published as a screenshot.

🎯 Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole, who developed the Atomic Essay for their Ship 30 for 30 course, have two core ideas with this approach:

  1. Short, single-thought-focused writing that can be posted as a screenshot on social media platforms generates valuable data for you.

  2. You have an easy way to discuss your ideas, thoughts or questions with readers before investing more time in the topic.

Eight steps to success 💪

Step 1: Choose any topic you want to write about.
👉 Your goal is to outline your idea to gather interest, feedback and data.

Step 2: Decide what readership you are writing for.
👉 With the topics relationship, finance or health you will address a broad audience. With all other topics you will most likely reach a niche audience.

Step 3: Formulate a compelling headline.
👉 Ask yourself what is the promise of your title and what feeling do you want to evoke?

Step 4: Write about the message(s) announced in the title.
👉 Readers will skim over the main points, not read them.

Step 5: Explain your main points.
👉 Readers want to understand what you are writing about. The rule is: KISS - Keep it simple, stupid.

Step 6: Design your essay to appeal to readers.
👉 the essay is not for you, but for the readers. The rule is: kill your darlings.

Step 7: Publish your essay on one or more platforms and collect data.
👉 Your goal is to get feedback and collect data quickly.

Step 8: Publish regularly and in short intervals.
👉 The more platforms you use, the larger your footprint will be. The algorithms will help you!
