There are two different kinds of questions to ask yourself as you review your year.
#1 Layer One, Basic Questions:
Did you accomplish your goals? Why/Why not?
What was your biggest win for the year?
What was your biggest loss for the year?
What was the most unexpected thing that happened?
What was your biggest improvement?
What new skills did you learn?
What were your habits this year? Which were sticky?
On a scale of 1-10, how content are you with your life?
#2 Layer Two, Deeper Questions:
What made you most happy?
What inspired you?
What is your stress level and how are you dealing with it?
What beliefs, views, or opinions no longer serve you?
What do you now do that you never thought you would?
What are you learning in therapy?
Are you spiritually fulfilled?
Has your purpose changed?
What can you let go of that no longer serves you?
What was the hardest part of this year?
How am I in alignment with my goals?
Both Types of Questions Are Important
You need to ask yourself a little of both question types for your year-end review. Layer one focuses on facts while layer two should make you think and self-reflect.
Each layer serves the other.
You want a more accurate picture of what went on (facts) and how it made you feel (self-reflection).
