This Is The Best Book I’ve Ever Read On Money
Iain Shirlaw

There are many books about money; the best one I have read is 'Broken Money' by Lyn Alden.

5 key takeaways from Broken Money:

  • What we use as money has changed throughout history and will almost certainly change again in the future.

  • The transfer of money has not kept pace with other technologies in the digital age.

  • Governments have always used the debasement of currency to take wealth away from individuals in order to fund debt. This acts like a hidden tax.

  • Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin might provide a way for individuals to protect their wealth from the debasement of currency.

  • Rather than being a negative, there can actually be positives to Bitcoin's energy consumption.

The book is extremely detailed and probably not for beginners. However, if you want to understand money in depth, I can't recommend this book enough.

If you've read it, do you agree? What other book would you recommend on this topic?
