There are so many meetups in London. And I've been to loads.
But the one I keep coming back to, over and over again, is the Decentralized Science London meetup. It's held on the last Thursday of every month, in Soho.
If you're curious about Decentralized Science (DeSci), here's why I would recommend coming along to a DeSci London meetup:
Reason #1: The people
Decentralized Science is full of people who are curious and open-minded by nature.
So the meetup is a welcoming place full of interesting people.
There are varied backgrounds - you'll find researchers, developers, lawyers, doctors, investors, founders, economists and more.
You can be a web3 newbie, sceptic or a devotee - that doesn't matter.
If you come a couple of times, you'll start to recognise people and feel that sense of community.
Reason #2: The ideas
Decentralized Science asks:
Is there a better way to do research?
What could that look like?
It's a space full of new ideas and bubbling possibility!
Reason #3: The talks
The DeSci London team encourages projects to give a short talk on a topic e.g. an intro to web3.
It's a small part of the evening (the rest is chatting), but it's a nice focus to discuss with others.
This is especially good if you're introverted or new to the space.
As a beginner, coming along to a meetup is one of the most helpful ways to learn more about Decentralized Science.
If you can't make it this evening, then put it in your diary for the 24th November! Hope to see you there :)
