People really only become famous if their names are short, easy to remember, and/or unique.
I've been thinking about this theory nonstop for last several days. I believe that you can only become famous and successful if you have a unique and short name. What what what do you mean?
Think about this phenomenon.
One word Names: There's a lot of celebrities who have short names like Zendaya or Madonna or Beyonce or Rihanna.
Short Names: There's a lot of people that have short names like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, these names are easy to remember and they're unique.
Shortened Names: There's a reason that Gary Vaynerchuk goes by Gary Vee, easier to say/spell/remember
Alliteration: Bo Burnham, David Dobrik, Joe Jonas even Megan Markle change her name from Rachel Markle, so that there was an alliteration.
Screen Names: People in Hollywood change her name to screen names all the time. Olivia Wilde, that's not her real name. Emily stone became Emma Stone. Michael Keaton was originally Michael Douglas, but he couldn't have that name.
Unique & Memorable Names: There's a reason why nightbird on America's Got Talent (RIP). And Hunter girl recently on American Idol became pretty viral. Why? Because people remember their names.
Why certain celebs are memorable: Think about some of the TikTokers out here. You've got Charli D'Amelio and Addison Rae both very unique names that are pretty short. You've got people like Tinx and Rod names that are uncommon, but easy to remember and short.
Word of Mouth: How do people become famous right? Think about like back in the days when Disney Channel at Hannah Montana, I'm pretty sure they named that for a reason. The rhyming? Miley Cyrus has also a unique name. So when people are like, what's the show about? They're like, there's this girl Miley Cyrus. And again, word of mouth. People remembered it. People underestimate the value of word of mouth marketing. If people remember your name, they're more likely to share it.
Why I rebranded:
So one of the reasons I recently rebranded to my name was because my name (Jenna Redfield) is somewhat unique. I'm the only person in the world with it. I literally own the domain, all of the social handles everything for my name. It's not difficult enough that they don't know how to spell it or pronounce it.
Is it worth it to change your name?
If you have a name that's confusing to spell or say, you're probably losing potential opportunities. This is why people take stage names because they're not unfortunately able to use the name that they're born with.
The shorter and more unique your name is, the more I believe that you're able to get famous. Now you obviously have to have talent as well. You can't just have a cool name and be able to be famous, you have to have both.
I believe naming is about psychology and the way people share information. I think it's worth it to find the right name to call yourself
