A Short List Of The Essentials I Need As A Part Time Digital Nomad Living In RV
Jeremy Patrick McKay

It is a short list because there are only a few things I need.

  • Cell phone with a decent cellular connection and a cellular plan that allows hotspot use. I use ATT and Verizon. So far they work any place I have cellular.

  • Laptop for work and the power cords. I use a MacBook. It has everything I need to get my work complete, and I have forgotten my power cord more than once.

  • A Back up power supply that can run your equipment for at least 24 hr. You should be able to recharge the battery in less than four hours from the RV's cigarette lighter. I enjoy having the ability to recharge my back up power supply with a solar panel. But, a solar panel is "beyond the essentials".

  • Water. I always bring plenty of water. I usually have enough drinking water for 5-7 days.

  • Food. I like to carry at least a week's worth of food. A balance of fresh food and canned items. Instance coffee is essential, ground coffee is beyond the essentials.

  • A small butane stove, and a pot to boil water and cook food.

This is a list of minimums. I actually have other things/toys I bring with me that are "beyond the essentials". I'll be providing that list in a separate post.

Thanks for reading. What are some essentials you have on your list that I might've missed?
