How You Can Speed Up Meeting Your Goals by having a NO List
Joe V

You are not meeting your goals because you are keeping doing things that hold back.

Having lists of goals, your wishes, or your principles is exciting. It gives you a reason to look forward. It is something that will improve the quality of your life.

Well, do you have a No List?

The No List is a list of something you DON'T want to do. The non-negotiable item that you will always say, "NO," no matter what. The article on your No List lists things that you will not agree, comply with, or do that don't add value to your life.

A few examples of my NOs are:

  • I will not eat foods that have been double-dipped or drank from a cup.

  • I will not take meetings before 9 am and 12 pm - 2 pm.

  • I will not make a purchase decision when I am tired.

I build the NOs off my goals, vision, and dreams. Saying no moves me toward my goals. And, having NO lists help me stay in good shape mentally, physically, and spiritually.

An example is I will not work on Sundays.

It serves two purposes: 1) it is my faith as a Catholic to follow the Ten Commandments, the #4, Remember the sabbath day, keep it holy. And 2) I need to rest to recharge for the upcoming week. I take care of my spiritual and physical needs.

What is on your No List?

Review your goals and ask yourself, "What are things that prevent me from reaching my goals. Does saying "no," does it help you move toward your goals? Then, ask yourself, what will help me thrive in my physical, mental, and spirit? Does saying no to requests or things you do preserve or improve your well-being?

There you go, you have your No List.
