Jim Kwik's: 6 Keys to Learning F.A.S.T.E.R
John Tanner

The acronym "F.A.S.T.E.R" from Jim Kwik's book "Limitless" is something that everyone could implement and I definitely recommend reading this book on upgrading your brain:

FORGET:

The knowledge from "what we think we know" can stop us from learning new information and the limitations we often believe we have.
- Have an open mind and be prepared to forget what you think you know.
- Give your full attention, don't multi-task.

ACTIVE:

The brain learns best when we're creating something, so "be active" when learning something:

  • Take notes

  • Ask more questions and challenge yourself.

STATE: (The mood of your mind & body)

All learning is "state dependent", so never try and learn when you’re tired or bored.

  • When you learn something new, be conscious, ask questions.

  • Never try to learn when you are tired or bored
    (Anything times Zero = Zero)

  • Information + Emotion = Long term memory

TEACH:

Always learn with the intention of teaching someone. If you know you have to teach your attention will be more focused - and you get to learn it twice.

ENTRY: (In to your Calendar )

Schedule your learning into a calendar to make time for personal growth.

REVIEW: (To mitigate The forgetting curve)

Spaced repetition helps consolidate short to long term memory.

Top Tip: Before starting to learn something new, review information from the previous day. This helps consolidate the information from short to long term memory.
