5-Minute videos are NOT the sweet spot for YouTube's algorithm.

In fact, your mission as a new channel is to find your very own sweet spot for video length. You may be bursting at the seams with knowledge, so the temptation is to make a 30-minute video describing everything that you know.

Then you go to upload that long video and it only gets 17 views. What happened?

❌ Myth: 30-Minute Videos KILL Your Channel.

There are no landmines around "good" time lengths.

If you post a video that is 5-minutes, or 50-minutes, YouTube is NOT going to shadow-ban your channel.

✅ Offer Different Times for Different Audiences

We can break your audience into 3 segments: new, warm and diehard.

When new audiences are searching for the answer, they don't care which channel it comes from. They want the answer and they want it now.

And if you're video is under 5 minutes, then you might stand out as the winning video.

Tip #1: Create 1-3 Minute Videos for New Audiences

These shorter videos quickly answer your audience's questions without a HUGE commitment. It's a quick win for everyone.

Tip #2: Create 5-10 Minute Videos for Warm Audiences

This is where you can start to boost your watch time. Those fresh faces are starting to grow on you. They're ready to learn more about your niche channel.

Tip #3: Create 30+ Minute Videos for Your Diehard Fans

These extra-long videos are going to be your livestreams or your walkthroughs, where you, in detail, explain a concept for your niche.

There is no perfect time length for audiences - just the perfect amount of content your audience needs now.
