“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.” — Christopher Hitchens
If I’m making a claim, is up to me to prove it.
When dealing with people everybody is quick in making assumptions without backing them with evidence you can dismiss them without evidence.
For example, if I allege I can read 3x quicker than the rest and finish a book in 1 hour, it’s not up to you to prove that I can’t — it’s up to me to prove that I can.
I’m the one making the claim — therefore it’s up to me to prove it.
This will save you time waste from chit-chat, since majority do not prove their claims.
So, Hitchens’ Razor just reminds us that we need proof before we believe something is true.
