The Best Piece Of Advice I Was Given About Selling Stuff Online
Kari Baxter

When I was found the internet in the late 90s and wanted to use it to get leads and sales for my business, I came across a crazy surfer dude who was making a killing. His name is Frank Kern. I learned a lot from him, but he gave me an unforgettable piece of advice.

I was just starting to build my own opt in pages (hello FTP), and had been running myself ragged trying to attract my audience and get sales.

But, like most beginners, I was making a lot of mistakes:

  • I was focused on my business and what I wanted.

  • I was watching what my competition was doing, instead of what my clients needed.

  • I was so worried about what people thought of me (doing videos, trainings, etc).

Until one day, Frank said:

"Show you can help people by actually helping them."

That phrase changed my life.

Your leads and prospects don't care about your business or how much money you want to make. They don't care what you look like on camera or if you use fancy software.

They want to know:

  • Do you have what they want?

  • How do they get it?

  • How will their life improve after buying your thing?

The BEST way to show them those things is to actually help them - even before they pay you. Show them what you do, how you do it, your process. and what it's like to work with you. Show them how life will be better after working with you. Then tell them how to sign up!

Think more about your customers than yourself and you'll have an endless flow of people who want to work with you.
