Starting a new job, hobby or side hustle can be a lonely road.

You have no experience in the field. You are unsure if you are efforts will yield any results in the future. Yet rejection, doubt and failure are part of every successful person's journey.

Here are 5 successful people who faced rejection, doubt and failure but kept going and found success at the end of the road:

Michael Jordan - Before becoming a world famous NBA basketball player and signing billion dollar deals with Nike, Coca Cola and more, did you know that Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team? Despite the initial setback, Jordan became the first billionaire in NBA history.

Oprah Winfrey - Before becoming a world famous daytime TV host and launching the Oprah Winfrey network, Oprah Winfrey was fired from a Baltimore TV network because she was "unfit for television news". She is now worth $3 billion and hosted one of the most popular day time TV shows of all time.

Walt Disney - Before becoming the world famous creator of Disney World and Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney was fired due to his "lack of imagination". In addition, his first animation company went bankrupt. However, Disney persevered and the rest is history.

Tim Ferris - Before becoming the world famous podcaster and author of The 4 HourWorkweek, Tim Ferris' book was rejected 26 times before a publisher decided to give him a chance. Ferris is now listed as one of Fast Company's most "innovative business people" and one of Fortune's "40 under 40".

Stephen King - Before becoming a world famous author, Stephen King's first book Carrie was rejected 30 times before being published. He now has sold more than 350 million copies of his book.

So next time you face rejection, doubt and failure always remember Thomas Eddison's words:

"If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward."

So no matter the struggle you face, keep going.

It will pay off in the future.
