I've been doing a lot of introspective reflection this year. Some of it has been exclusively for myself, I've also shared a few of my thoughts publicly on Twitter.
Now, during Ship30for30 I plan on compiling my thoughts and notes into a public memoir.
Here are 8 Reasons why:
To investigate, question, and reflect on the various phases in my life.
To give advice to my younger self (and you as a thoughtful reader)
To examine struggles I've overcome from a more objective point of view and offer advice to others
To surprise myself by unearthing hidden treasures of wisdom in my life
To learn from previous disappointments and failures (in order to frame them in a more positive light - if possible)
To create a tangible list of the most important skills I've collected throughout my life so far
To figure out what the next steps are that I want to take on certain areas of my life
(And most importantly) To obtain power over my personal narrative
Description of the memoir
Here's a brief description of my "Map Memoir" (working title)
Description: Part epistolary. Part notebook. Part self-help. All true.
"Map Memoir" is one man’s exploration of his inner world map.
Through thoughtful investigation, a curious heart, and an ample dose of humor he’ll traverse the pitfalls of the past, brave hidden and not-so-hidden dangers, learn vital skills, and face the fiercest bosses.
It's all in an attempt to uncover the secrets concealed beneath the surface to gain the ultimate power in order to face the “Architect”. His intrepid ordeal will reshape the foundations of his inner world forever.
You're invited to join him as a party member. As you travel together, you'll learn from his insights and discover a few of your own. Learning to chart your own map could be the beginning of a new journey.
If you're interested in joining me on this journey of self-mastery and self-discovery to lead you toward a similar transformation, follow me on Twitter.
