It's time to talk about how this memoir will be structured.
My initial thought is to have each area divided into 4 primary subsectors.
I'll discuss the contents of each one here.
This will be my initial thinking about the area, before I go through the process of poking around to begin traveling the landscape.
Think of this initial survey as me looking upon the land from a high vantage point. My eyes sweeping across large swathes of land looking for the stand out features.
What are the landmarks? Where are the bright spots? What about lands shrouded in shadow and fog? I'll see all of that from here.
Practically, it will contain lists of soon-to-be abandoned assumptions about what I think I'll find or what I thought I knew to be true before I descend from the lookout and begin to uncover the ground truth.
In this subsector I plan to dig into my personal archives in order to discover the truth of my thoughts and actions at the time.
I'll comb through journals, products, artifacts, and anything else I've created in the past at this time.
This is where the real work begins.
Where the true features of the landscape reveal themselves. When the creatures of my past emerge from the land to greet me or beat me.
Be they angels or demons? Or some other lower form of innocuous being? I'll find out here.
This is ground floor work. The grind where I'll get messy to confront old narratives about myself and strive to reframe them in new ways.
It might turn out to be the place where I gain the most experience and ideas about what my real map might look like.
