UK, France Update Entry Requirements For International Visitors
Kevin Alexander

Travelers to the U.K. and France will have to navigate new entry requirement changes. The requirements are yet more changes travelers will need to understand before heading abroad.

The U.K. makes it easier.

The U.K. is set to eliminate many standing requirements for vaccinated travelers.

Gone is the requirement that vaccinated visitors receive a negative test before departing their home country. Requirements for PCR tests have been eliminated as well. Instead, travelers only need to complete a "Passenger Locator Form."

This simplified paperwork asks people to submit their vaccination status, travel history, and contact information.

France makes it harder.

Across the channel, France has raised the bar on entry requirements.

The Health Activity Pass (required for entry to most public spaces/activities) is now the "Vaccine Pass." Currently, a booster is necessary if one's 2nd dose was over 7 months prior. On Feb. 15th, that period shrinks to 4 mos.

Travelers from the U.S. can get a pass at pharmacies and other locations by showing their passport and CDC card and paying a nominal fee.

Return requirements remain the same.

Travelers returning to the U.S. will still need to provide proof of a negative test for entry back into the country. Those requirements are not slated to change anytime soon.
