If you want your website to appear higher in the search results, you need to invest in search engine optimization.
I will write another article about SEO in a few days, but in this article I will first explain how to do keyword research.
What is a keyword research for
A keyword research is the basis for SEO. Because, if you don't know what your potential customers are looking for, you can't optimize for it.
With keyword research you can find out which keyword phrases are worth producing content for.
The steps of a keyword research
To do this, you call up Google Search in the privacy mode of your browser and enter the topic you want to write about, for example digital marketing.
Thanks to Google Autocomplete, you get suggestions of keyword phrases based on search queries in Google.
So Google shows us what users have searched for related to Digital Marketing, for example Digital Marketing Salary, Digital Marketing Jobs or Digital Marketing Course. These are the most searched keyword phrases in the past.
In the next step, we then enter an "A" after Digital Marketing. Google immediately completes the search query again with matching keyword phrases beginning with an "A".
This way we can go through the whole alphabet and get a list of keyword phrases, users searched in the past. For exactly these keyword phrases it is worth to create content.
It's even easier with Keyword Tool
Fortunately, we don't have to do it all manually, there is a tool that helps us do it. Keyword Tool does this process for you and creates exactly this list for you automatically. In the Pro version you also get the search volume for each keyword.
