My sisters are coming for a visit next week, and every time we have one of our precious "Sisters Weekends," I am reminded of the article by Tim Urban called "The Tail End." (https://waitbutwhy.com/2015/12/the-tail-end.html). He uses simple, visual representations to demonstrate the finite nature of our lives and our time with family and friends. The concept of the "tail end" refers to the time we have left in our lives to experience various aspects of life, such as spending time with loved ones, holidays, books to read, time to do the things we love, etc.
Urban emphasizes that we often take precious and even not-so-precious moments for granted, assuming we have an endless supply of opportunities to share them with the people we care about. However, in reality, we have a limited number of these occurrences left in our lifetimes.
I don't know how many Sisters Weekends we have left. But I do know that after reading that article (which one of my sisters shared with us), we will never, ever take them for granted again.
The article is truly worth reading. Here is the link again: https://waitbutwhy.com/2015/12/the-tail-end.html
