Salespeople don’t rely on just one lead—they create a funnel of potential clients. Your job search should be the same.

Apply to multiple roles, track your progress, and keep your options open. I used Trello in the past to track all my applications and that has helped a lot.

2. Network & Cold DM Recruiters

Opportunities don’t always come from job boards. Reach out directly. Message recruiters, hiring managers, and industry professionals.

Show how you can bring value to that company, be bold and creative. You'll be hard to forget.

A well-crafted DM can get you on their radar before a role is even posted.

3. Don’t Limit Yourself to Just a Few Roles

The biggest mistake you could make as a job seeker is putting all your hopes into one or two “perfect” jobs. The kind of jobs you know you would be a perfect fit for.

The truth is, your dream role might be somewhere you didn’t expect. Keep an open mind and cast a wide net.

4. Follow Up & Stay Proactive

Sales people follow up—and so should you. If you’ve applied, don’t be afraid to check in. If you networked with someone, nurture that connection.

Persistence pays off.
