What Is Macromanaging?

Think of macromanaging as trust-based leadership. Instead of obsessing over the tiny details of how work gets done, you focus on what needs to be accomplished and give your team the freedom to get there their own way.

How it works?

Let your team (if possible) work from where they want – Remote, hybrid, office, coffee shop… as long as the work gets done, does it really matter?
Provide them with the resources they need– You’re there to equip, not control.
Let the team decide the "how" –let them do their thing, let them do what they are good at. That's why you hired them after all, right?
Trust your team. – Radical, I know. But trust = ownership, and ownership = better results and a more zen work environment.

Why It Works

Micromanaging creates frustration, low morale, and high turnover. Macromanaging, on the other hand, fosters innovation, accountability, and trust.

People don’t need a boss breathing down their neck. They need a leader who trusts them to deliver.
