How much of the world's information do you have access to with the device in your hand?
We are only a Google search away from a world of knowledge. But, it's becoming harder and harder to focus on the information that matters to us. The Building a Second Brain system helps solve this problem.
Knowledge capture is the first step in turning information we encounter into results.
There are so many tools to help you capture information. I have spent countless hours researching and iterating on my own system. Let's save you some time by walking you through my toolkit.
These are the 2 tools I use most for the ultimate capture toolkit.
Obsidian: I have tried many note-taking apps and settled on Obsidian (free). It has a strong community, and I appreciate the longevity of Markdown files. I also use Obsidian Sync (paid). This enables me to keep my vaults in sync across devices, including the mobile app.
Readwise: I have tried most of the read-it-later apps and recently settled on Reader (private beta) by Readwise (paid). This is the tool I use to capture all types of content, including Articles, Tweets, and PDFs. I started sending emails to it, and moving Newsletters across to the RSS Feed as well. I also sync my Kindle highlights with Readwise, so all my digital highlights are in one place. The great thing about Readwise is that it integrates with many note-taking apps. All my highlights get synced straight to Obsidian like magic.
This toolkit will boost your productivity and enable you to focus on producing results.
