I was around my sister’s house when my nephews and niece asked if I wanted to play Articulate. The aim of the game is to describe as many words as possible in a minute. The only rule is you can’t say the word itself. After a few rounds, I realised this could be useful for my Arabic.
Having played the game with my teachers for several months, I found there were two benefits:
When learning a new language, you will regularly come across words you don’t know. It’s better to try to describe it in your target language than to ask “what is the word for ...”. This game gets you into the habit of doing this.
The lists of words in the game are quite varied. This exposes you to a lot of new words.
The game cost £18 but is one of the best investments I have made to take my Arabic to the next level.
