I remember seeing Barry Humphries and his gladioli live on stage at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne - in 1979.
Three unexplained memories from that event:
🤔 Why we were given gladioli to wave in the air as part of the finale?
😴 How was boring the Sandy Stone dialogue?
🏃♂️💨 How quickly did Barry change costumes?
I was with a girlfriend, and her mother who was visiting Melbourne, and this was the must-do event at the time.
Edna was the star and Sir Les had a minor role.
The biggest recall I had from that event was that a business can be built around the talent one person.
Sure, Barry Humphries had a support team larger than I probably understood, but it's his talents that attracted the business.
This was the first time I'd seen a solopreneur in action.
90% of their success relied on their input.
I've been impressed by solopreneurs since. They achieve the work-life balance we all strive to achieve.
