This week we have learned about tracking your health and fitness trackers, why resting heart rate (RHR) rocks, and 3 quick ways to lower RHR.
So how do I stay up-to-date on hacking health?
I've been studying and working in digital health for years
I enjoy tracking my metrics and testing different ways to lower RHR
I follow people who are 100x more obsessive than me about longevity
If you too want to go really deep down this rabbit hole, I highly recommend these three podcasts:
1. The Peter Attia Drive
This podcast is led by Peter Attia, MD. Dr. Attia is a physician obsessed with longevity. From fasting to exercise to avoiding Alzheimer’s he discusses it all. Most of his podcasts go very deep with top researchers and it sometimes feel like I'm sitting in a medical school lecture. There is also a paid version (I'm a subscriber) of the podcast where he posts Ask Me Anything (AMA) episodes and discounts to some health products.
2. The Tim Ferriss Show
Skipping the intro on Tim Ferriss as he is so well known. While it is considered a business podcast I do find that he has a number of health-minded guests. Additionally, Tim Ferriss asks extremely tactical questions getting into the nuts and bolts of habits and all the steps in between.
3. The Matt Walker Podcast
I just recently followed this particular podcast but I've listened to Dr. Walker multiple times on other shows. He also wrote Why We Sleep. If you want to win at sleep this is your guy.
