Here we are, halfway through 2025. Six months behind us, six months ahead. Every year around this time, I like to spend a quiet evening with my journal, asking myself some reflection questions. Tonight, I'm carving out space to reflect on where I've been so I can get crystal clear on where to focus my energy for the rest of the year.
If you feel called to join me in this practice, grab your favorite notebook and find a cozy corner. These aren't questions to rush through—they're invitations to sit with yourself and listen deeply to what emerges.
Mid-Year Reflection Questions
1. Where has your time actually gone these past six months? Look at your calendar, your habits, your daily rhythms. Does how you've spent your time reflect what you say matters most to you? Where do you see alignment, and where do you notice gaps?
2. What have been the defining moments of your year so far? Think both big and small—a milestone you reached, a tough conversation you finally had, or even a quiet Sunday morning that changed your perspective. What stands out as a highlight for you?
3. Where are you leaning into discomfort and taking meaningful risks? Growth lives in the space between safe and scary. Where are you pushing your own edges right now?
4. How are your big three goals for 2025 really going? Be honest. Are you making real progress, going through the motions, or completely off track? If you need to course-correct, what would that look like?
5. What's your biggest challenge right now, and what might it be trying to teach you? Every struggle carries wisdom. What is this difficulty asking you to learn, and who or what could help you navigate it?
6. What are you ready to release? The grudge, the perfectionism, the project that's no longer serving you, the version of yourself you've outgrown. What needs to be let go?
7. What do you need to forgive yourself for? We can often be our own harshest critic. Where can you extend yourself the same grace you'd offer a dear friend?
8. What are you genuinely proud of? Don't minimize this. What have you accomplished, overcome, or created that deserves recognition—even if no one else noticed?
9. If you could fully commit to achieving just one thing by year's end, what would it be? Not three things, not five. One meaningful goal that would make you feel like 2025 was a success, regardless of what else happens.
10. What are at least 20 micro-wins from this year? The small victories, tiny breakthroughs, and quiet moments of progress that often go unnoticed. Keep going until you hit 20—you might just be surprised by the progress you’ve made.
Pour yourself something warm, turn off your notifications, and take your time with each question. As you move through them, tune into your mind, body, and feelings—let your intuition guide you.
I'd love to hear what this practice brings up for you if you feel like circling back and sharing.
