I started writing online 6 months ago.
Since then, I've...
• Grown over 700+ followers on Medium
• Earned 3-figures publishing articles
• 1000 views per month
If I had to do it all over again, here are 5 things I'd do differently.

Thing #1: Don't edit after you finish writing.
At the time, I thought editing was a good idea.
It wasn't.
It led to trying to get the perfect article redoing sentences over and over again.
Instead, I would write and wait to edit the next day.

Thing #2: Prepare the page.
I thought there wasn't any issue with writing like an artist and staring at a blank canvas.
There was.
Instead, I would write outlines. Because I learned that outlines...
• Prevents writer's block
• Helps you start writing
• Saves you time

Thing #3: When in doubt publish.
One of my biggest mistakes was not publishing every time.
I should have.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd hit publish. Because publishing is what unlocks:
• Rapid fire feedback
• Leads to more ideas (engagement)
• Audience growth

Thing #4: Don't obsess over your stats.
At the time, everyone told me to look at the data.
At the start, it doesn't matter.
Looking at the stats was a huge waste of time, and it ended up loose focus on my writing.
I would have improved faster if I had just avoided it.

Thing #5: Always be in for the readers.
It has taken me the first months to realize readers are what matters.
Don't pay attention to what others do.
Don't feel the need to listen to your ego.
Just focus on the readers and the rest takes care of itself.
