I have been an affiliate marketer for 17 years. In that time I've generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in affiliate sales.
In that time there have been 3 problems that most affiliates encounter
#1 Promoting Too Much:
The most successful affiliates I've met only promote one or two products at a time. It takes time to learn what works for different products, promoting too many makes this task impossible.
Focus on 1 or two products and become a master at those. (you might get higher commissions!)
#2: Not following up with buyers
90% of affiliates never follow up with buyers. This is a real pity as your buyers are literally a list of buyers... the most valuable email list you can have.
When I ask why the answer I get is: "I have no way of knowing who has purchased"
You Do!
Offer a bonus or use a service like Gumroad who send you the details of who have bought.
#3 Overcomplicated Systems
Keep affiliate marketing simple.
1 Source of traffic, => 1 Lead magnet, =>1 Email sequence => 1 Offer
Put affiliate links in the lead magnet and the email sequence.
Test and tweak until you are making money.. then and only then look to change things up.
