Why are we here? What’s the point of all this? What are we supposed to do with our time?
Everyone asks these questions. Some turn to religion for answers. Others turn to science and philosophy. Some go inward. I used to think the meaning of life was some grand discovery. Something waiting for me at the end of a road of achievement and accolades.
But it never came that way. No breakthrough. No spiritual awakening. Just life.
Years of living. Of losing and starting over. Of watching people I love suffer and strangers rise. Of falling short and trying again. Of feeling everything from awe to grief to boredom.
And somewhere in the middle of it all, I stopped looking so hard. I realized something simple. Maybe even obvious.
Meaning Begins Where Ego Ends
We are not here to accumulate status. We’re not here to collect praise, power, or possessions. We are here to serve.
When we serve the ego, we lose our way. We make choices that harm others. We become more concerned with image than impact. We trade what’s right for what’s easy.
History is full of people who lived for themselves. Their legacy is hollow. They are remembered for being on the wrong side of history.
The people who leave a real mark lift others. They build something greater than themselves. They use their time and talent to make the world lighter, better, grander.
Your ego will shout life is about you. But meaning begins when you realize it isn’t.
Life Is Meant to Be Experienced
We don’t know what happens after this life. Heaven. Hell. Rebirth. A great nothingness.
But we do know there was infinite time before we got here. There will be infinite time after we’re gone. We’re alive for a blink. A moment. A crack of lightning in endless darkness.
So what do we do with that flash?
We feel it. All of it.
The joy and the heartbreak. The confusion and the calm. The beauty and the boredom.
We love those who will leave us. We chase dreams that may never come true. We laugh until we cry and cry until we can’t breathe.
And somehow, all of it matters. Because we are here to experience a human life.
To live. Fully. Freely. Entirely.
