I write about faster, better ways to communicate your ideas to tough audiences - aimed at lawyers/professionals who communicate complexity. Also how to have presence when presenting.
After 27 days posting daily on LinkedIn and X as a newbie public writer, I noticed...
Self conscious writing is as distracting in the moment as self conscious speaking is.
⢠When I think āwill people like this topic or notā - I find it very hard to choose something to write about, or to finish a post.
⢠When Iām grounded in that energizing feeling of āhereās a better way to do thisā or āhereās something Iāve learnedā - I write like the freely.
Wondering "what people will think" keeps us silent. It's why we:
Don't write
Don't speak
Don't try something new
Wait for inspiration
Wait to feel worthy
Wait for someone to invite us to speak or to write
Wait to be anointed as a person with expertise
Stop thinking about the impact of your writing. Just write.
Today is Day 28 of my daily writing sprint on #publicspeaking tips. And other stuff. What else would you like to read?
