How We Use Technology to Remove the Friction in Giving Feedback
M G

Earlier this year, we started using Bonusly to give feedback.

Bonusly is a program that allows everyone in your organization to recognize others. Users are allotted an allowance of bonus points to hand out to peers. Recipients can redeem points for things like gift cards.

This program allows our feedback to be:

Public: We’ve integrated Bonusly with Teams, making recognition visible to all. This allows everyone to see when someone is recognized and keeps it top of mind so people remember to use it.

Timely: Recognition should be given as close as possible to the moment you’re recognizing. Having a program like this allows us to give feedback immediately rather than trying to cram everything into a semi-annual performance review.

Inclusive: Anyone in our law firm can recognize anyone else. It’s a great way for people who may not work directly with each other to pay attention to others.

Tied to our values: Recognition usually involves hashtags and gifs and the hashtags tie into our values. Recognizing people when they do something that aligns with our values reinforces those values.

There are other programs like Bonusly, and I recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a new way to recognize and reward your team.
