Here are five tips to help get your New Years resolutions back on track.

We are already two weeks into 2023. If you have made any New Years resolutions theres a good chance you will be in the 43% of people who are already quitting. Below I am giving you five tips to start succeeding at yours and help make your year the success you want it to be.

1. Schedule when you are going to do it

Let’s say that you want to start running every morning to help improve your health. Instead of telling yourself “I am going for a run every morning when I wake up” add a time to it. “After I have woken up at 6:30am I am going for a run at 7:00am” You are much more likely to stick to it if you know when you are going to do it.

2. Increase the friction to do it

If you want to eat less junk food, keep none at your house.  If you really want that bar of chocolate you will go and get it from a shop.

By making the bad habit more difficult to do, you will naturally do it less.

3. Tell someone about it

Are all of your resolutions a secret? Telling someone else about what you are trying to do helps validate it. It also gives you some accountability!

If you know big mouth Bill is going to ask how your new hobby is going, chances are you will stick to it more.

4. Start smaller

Have you aimed too high with your resolution? If you didn’t already have time to meditate for 60 minutes per day last year chances are you still wont.

Start with 5 minutes to get used to doing it and slowly increase. Don’t forget to allow for the setting up and tidying time for your activity.

5. Do less

Are you being particularly ambitious and have a lot of resolutions you are trying to keep? Ask yourself which ones are going to push your life in the right direction most and focus on those

I hope that you have found these tips useful and will be able to put them into action.

Good luck in the coming weeks and please let me know what you have been able to achieve!.
