How to send emails to your Notion workspace
Made by @maxvanberk

I always struggled to find a place to store emails that hold useful information but don't require an action or response. In the past, when I used Evernote, I could forward an email to a special email address and store it alongside my notes.

Since I moved to Notion, I wanted to recreate the same workflow.

Unfortunately, Notion doesn’t have something similar built in but there’s a simple way around it.

Enter Zapier.

Zapier is a tool that helps you automate workflows across different products.

By using Zapier’s email triggers, you can send emails to a Notion database for later reference.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Create a new Zap: Log in to Zapier or create an account, then select Create Zap.

  2. Set up Email by Zapier: Create a new trigger and select Email by Zapier. Click on Trigger Event and select New Inbound Email. You can now customise your inbound email address. I’d recommend to use a name you can easily remember. Copy it to your clipboard and send a test email to your new mailbox. Then click on Test Trigger. If the test is successful, move on to the next step.

  3. Set up a Notion action: Create a new action and search for Notion. Choose an account or follow the steps to connect your Notion Workspace. Then select Create Database Item under Action Event. Now you can define specific properties that you want to populate automatically. For example, you could send the email subject line to a Name property. Next, you can test the action.

  4. If your test was successful, you can turn on your Zap.

  5. Boom, you’re done! Congratulations, you can now send emails to your Notion workspace
