How to Get Started on Merch on Demand?
Mayank Gogia

I have been selling on Merch on Demand Platform for a while now and making a decent income from it.

It's been 5 years since the launch of the platform and in my opinion, it is still the best way to get started with eCommerce and Print on Demand.

"You get to sell on the world's largest eCommerce Company without holding any inventory"

Let that sink but most people still focus on making a short-term income here and there and keep complaining in the Facebook groups that Merch is saturated (For them it is)

Anyways, if you are looking to get started on the platform, here's how you can do it :

#1. Application

This will be the biggest barrier to selling on the platform and you have to be patient with this step.

You will have to apply to the platform https://merch.amazon.com/ and it can take from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to get an answer.

#2. Tier System

If you get accepted, you cannot just upload 100s of designs.

They will let you start with 10 and they have a tier system in place for this.

Tier 10, 25, 50, 100, 500, and so on but since they have introduced more products it is much easier to level up.

If you are in Tier 10, you can only upload 10 Designs and you have to make a couple of sales with those designs to level up to Tier 25 and so on.

#3. Trademarks & Copyrights

If you plan to do it for the long term, you need to learn about this.

You don't have to be a lawyer to do this but you have to understand the basics of it so you are not infringing on anyone's trademark or copyrights.

#4. Platform Rules

Apart from all these, they have some rules for the platform which you will find in "Content Policy" under the "Resources" section.

You are selling on their platform so you have to play by their rules so make sure you read them and play by them.
