Gratitude to a Long-Ago Teacher
Melissa Krueger

I’ve focused on some basics outside of myself for gratitude during the work week, but this weekend will be focused more on me. Before that, though, some gratitude to a teacher who left an unexpected spark of interest in me nearly 40 years ago…

Today is Day Five of the December Gratitude Challenge…

It’s a quiet Friday night. The Jingle Ball has begun, and I’ve been enjoying some stitching sprints as I unwind from a weirdly-paced week, watching the pre-recorded main ballroom holiday features - definitely getting into the holiday spirit! I’m working on my biscornu for my class with The Blue Flower tomorrow, and it’s just easing me into the weekend.

Tonight I am grateful to my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Arnold, who introduced me to this hobby that I’ve now done for nearly 40 years. It has become my grounding, my moving meditation, and my reminder that sometimes it’s not about the finish line. It’s about the slow, methodical journey to get there.

xxx I go…

I have decided to do a 31 consecutive days of The December Gratitude Challenge in December. Keep your fingers crossed!:) #TheDecemberGratitudeChallenge
