How to Play a Fun Storytelling Game for Loved Ones to Uncover Personal Stories About One Another
@milanicreative | Film & Animation Teacher 🥷

It's late in the evening and we're stuck in downtown traffic.

I look over to my wife next to me browsing her phone. We've been married over 10 years so it's a comfortable silence.

Still...

"Hey, remember that book, Storyworthy, I was tellin' you about? There's this story finding game in there called First, Last, Best, Worst."

My wife nods without looking up.

"Wanna play it?"

The next hour of traffic flies by.

I realize...10 years of marriage but still so many stories left undiscovered.

Why Play?

  • There's so much to learn about the people we love. So much stays hidden because we don't have an organic way to tap into the past.

  • The point of storytelling games is to shine a spotlight into the darkness, find memories, and turn them into stories.

How To Play

  • Come up with a noun as a prompt...like "Roommate"

  • Tell a story of your First Roommate, Last Roommate, Best Roommate, and Worst Roommate.

  • You can play this game alone as a self-discovery tool by writing down your stories.
