After struggling recently with writing online articles, I decided to sign up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole's cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30.
Here are a few reasons why:
Writing Challenges: Writing online is different from what I learned previously. Coming up with topics comes naturally, but putting together engaging yet concise content to hold the reader's attention in today's fast-paced world requires a new skill set.
Course Structure: It aligns well with my neurodivergent brain's preference—it offers a sense of urgency and challenge. At the same time, the flexibility in the choice of topics allows for something new each day.
Accountability: As much as I struggle with structure, having too much flexibility means I become indecisive and succumb to my perfectionist traits. Studying alongside like-minded writers adds a sense of accountability and combats loneliness when working toward a goal.
Over the next 30 days, I plan to write about maintaining consistency while navigating internal and external chaos.
Drawing from mindfulness-based practices, psychology, and philosophical frameworks, I intend to start with suggestions from other thought leaders that I have found helpful.
However, like all good intentions, the journey may set out in that direction, but the topics may change or vary along the way. The great thing about this course is that it considers such diversions.
Join me on this adventure—and let me know if you have any questions along the way!
