Daily Highlights
Mohammad Khan

We've had the same feeling.

We got stuck scrolling through social media, watching videos, or we were trying to do too much stuff at once.

And our day has flown by, and we've done nothing today.

After losing too much time and opportunities, I adopted using Daily Highlights from the book "Make Time" by Jake Knapp @jakek & John Zeratsky @jazer .

What are Daily Highlights?

Imagine someone at the end of the day asking you, what was the highlight of your day? That's your highlight.

Daily highlights are things you've wanted to finish but haven't found the time for.

The easiest way to be productive is to choose 3 tasks to complete for the day. But how do we decide which 3 to choose?

Use the following criteria for choosing the 3 tasks:

Urgency

If it needs done today, it has to be on the list. Crying Baby? Taxes due today? Report due today?

Urgency dictates importance.

Satisfaction:

Ask yourself how much satisfaction will it bring you if you completed it?

If it bothers you a lot, it's going to feel great getting that task off your plate.

Joy:

When you reach the end of the day, reflect on what task brought you the most joy. That should go on your daily highlight.

At the end of the day:

You'll look back at your list of highlights and feel accomplished.

So, when someone asks you "What's the highlight of your day". You'll have an answer ready.
