Exploring The Path Of Naturalness: 4 Ways
By Laila Atmane

There’s something deeply natural at play right now—a quiet yet powerful connection to magic, miracles, and mystery that exists all around us, waiting to be seen, heard, felt, and experienced through our senses.

As Gene Keys beautifully expresses:

Naturalness is the effortless expression of one’s true creativity and uniqueness beyond any definition, label, or external validation. Naturalness is about relaxing into the playful innocence that is inherently available to all beings, instead of fighting against the flow of life.

This is our true, natural state.

Here are 4 ways I’m currently exploring naturalness:

  1. Feet on the Earth: At first, walking barefoot was simply about exploring the movement itself. But this experience opened my eyes to the connection between our feet and the earth. Our feet help us stay grounded, influencing the rest of the body and enhancing our sense of connection to the environment and something bigger than ourselves.

  2. Natural Tremor Mechanism: Have you ever seen a gazelle shake after escaping a lion? This “shaking off” is a natural reflex we share with animals. Humans have this mechanism to release tension and calm the nervous system after stress, but we’ve forgotten it. TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises) helps activate this reflex, guiding the body back to balance. Once learned, TRE® can be practiced regularly to support the nervous system.

  3. Natural Movement: In today’s world, many have lost the ability to move naturally. Movements like walking, running, balancing, jumping, crawling, and lifting are basic, yet we often don't practice them in the ways our bodies truly need. Natural movement integrates these fundamental skills into daily life, keeping us connected to our body's innate potential.

  4. Morning Pages: The simplicity of morning pages—a blank sheet, a pen, and free-flow expression—holds a special kind of magic. With just 5% of our mind conscious, there’s so much beneath the surface waiting to be uncovered. Morning pages together with the above mentioned practices create space for some of that hidden expression to emerge.

🌱 Why not give ourselves and our bodies the space to slow down, be listened to, and allow that deeper expression to come through, letting our natural wisdom guide the way?
