Matthew 6:14–15 (MSG)
“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.
Do you find it difficult to forgive?
I do, and I know that I'm not in the right space when it's so difficult. Forgiveness can be complicated for so many reasons. The people that hurt us may no longer be alive. It may not be people, but a situation, organization, accident. We may be not forgive ourselves. But in the end, when know who wronged us and we're still anger (heartbroken, or whatever the emotion is for you); we have two questions to answer:
Why can't we forgive?
Are we willing to be defined by it.
Jesus teaches that forgiving others is essential to receiving forgiveness.
We have choices. At the time they may not seem great. It's a choice not to forgive. Forgiveness is not easy, but it leads to healing.
It is transformational to forgive.
