What Dream (The Best Minecraft Youtuber) Can Teach You About Living Your Best Life ๐
For the last two days, I've been blown away by videos from Dream.
โDreamโ is an anonymous YouTuber with over 30 million subscribers. He is mostly known for being the worldโs best player at Minecraft, an extremely popular sandbox game. From having the fastest records to beating the game while being chased by 3-5 other players.
What makes Dream special is his extraordinary ability and knowledge of the game. He is a true master, performing practically impossible stunts. His reflexes and real-time situational awareness are unmatched by everyone.
In other words, he is a true virtuoso (master of masters) at what he does.
Aside from gaming (obviously), I believe that even we non-gamers can be inspired and learn from what he does.
This level of unmatched mastery can be applied to any domain of life. From creative work, business, leadership, academia, sports, etc. People like Michael Jordan, Elon Musk, Allan Holdsworth, etc., can show us what is possible, breaking our previous expectations.
Of course, the key is an extraordinary amount of iterations and continuous improvements. We can safely assume that Dream has spent over 10 000 hours perfecting his gameplay, all while incorporating the latest tricks.
However, combining rapid improvements with awareness of both this moment and what is possible yields extraordinary results.
Three things we can learn from Dream today:
Pursue maximum excellence. In whatever you do, strive to become the best version of yourself possible.
Practice Total Presence. In the videos, Dream is totally present, which allows him to maintain outstanding gameplay.
Enjoy this moment. If you enjoy this exact step you take now, you have an easier time discovering how you can progress faster.
All these three will lift you to extraordinary performance fast while enjoying the precious life which is now.
