Day 9: 1 Tip I Would Give Someone Who Wanted To Take a Quantum Leap in Language Learning
Philippe-Antoine Rioux

Do you really want to push ahead and fully integrate the new language you're learning?

Perfect timing, because I've got some experience in learning and teaching new languages...

And what I'm about to tell you will help you make the most of your progress by drawing on all of your existing knowledge and capabilities and increasing them splendidly.

So, here's the 1 tip I’d give you if you wanted to take a giant step forward in language learning:

Tackle a bold and creative project in the new language

It could be writing a series of short stories, journaling daily for one year, or even writing a novel (yes, I’ve done that).

But make it bold enough to create the tension necessary to induce flow, which is so beneficial for language learning (see my previous Atomic Essay). In doing so, you’ll bring out and enhance what you’ve already learned, pick up new things and build many beneficial loops for a full integration of the new language.

Tackling such a project will also involve your whole being and bring you a great feeling of mastery and fulfillment.

Be creative, be bold, and soon enough you'll find yourself quantum leaping through the new language... and won't have to worry anymore about passing language tests!
