I love Zoom, but I am tired of it.
As I step back into the world, spending time with people over food and taking walks, I am watching big things start to move again.
These projects are emerging in ways that did not happen on the Brady Bunch screen I have stared into for 3 years from dawn until dusk.
You can't make something remarkable by scheduling a call. Arranging a follow-up for 60 minutes the following week does not put us in the mindset to take that idea further or turn words into action.
It is hard to commit to audacious moves without the trust that comes from time spent together in person.
Something big.
A project fraught with danger, but a one that many will benefit from if we can pull it off.
True Ad-venturing.
I've been struggling with it for about a year. It has been trapped in meetings and resisted action.
But now around board tables and dinners, in random conversation while we dashed to the next meeting... with real people... on the other side of the world, something has shifted.
Now there is action.
I plan to get out more.
